Dr. Banaji furthered his medical training by specializing in anesthesiology at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India, from 1989 to 1993. During this time, he engaged in research that compared the neuromuscular blocking effects of Pancuronium and Vecuronium in pediatric patients, a study published in the PGIMER Bulletin in 1992. In 1993, Dr. Banaji relocated to the United States, clearing his U.S. medical licensing exams and securing a spot in the Anesthesiology Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He later pursued a residency in Internal Medicine at East Tennessee State University, which he completed in 1998, receiving an award for "Outstanding Internal Medicine Resident."

Defining Moments in His Career


In 2000, Dr. Banaji moved to Forrest City, Arkansas, where he initially worked in private practice and as an emergency room physician at what is now Forrest City Medical Center. His early career also included providing outpatient and hospital-based care at a clinic affiliated with Baptist Memorial Hospital from 2002 to 2004, where he treated a significant number of uninsured and indigent patients.

Establishing Private Practice


In 2005, Dr. Banaji established his practice, Internal Medicine of Forrest City, becoming its senior partner and director. His role expanded in 2008 when he became the Medical Director at Earle Family Medical Clinic in Earle, Arkansas, a facility that offers comprehensive medical services to smaller communities.

Dr. Banaji specializes in managing chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, and COPD, focusing on elderly patients who often require sustained care for multiple health issues.
